The Promethean LP-1 was developed under the L&S Central Ohio Research Division [CORD] to meet the uncompromising reliability standards of professional end user teams. An overbuilt 7075-T6 housing is paired with a user-replaceable crumple hood that surrounds crystal-clear Japanese glass and patent-pending AuraWake circuitry.
AURAWAKE.
AuraWake™ is CORD’s patented, reliable utilization of shake-to-wake technology. Competitor shake-to-wake optics will auto shut-off after a set number of hours to conserve runtime, and a motion sensor reactivates the reticle once movement is detected. However, motion sensors may exhibit unreliability if damaged during impact, fostering a subsequent equipment failure upon weapon deployment.
To prevent catastrophic aiming system failure, CORD Instruments is proud to implement AuraWake™, a new partial shake-to-wake system that ties the motion sensor only to the circuit of the 65-MOA ring.
Following 5 minutes of non use, the LP-1’s outer CQB ring will “sleep,” yet maintain the 2-MOA dot on at all times. This provides a constant, action-ready aiming reference that cannot be interfered with upon motion sensor failure, while significantly increasing runtime.

I took the optic straight from the box, no bore sighting, went to the qualification range. Fired 4 rounds, made just a few adjustments, fire 4 more rounds. Went straight into qualification for my agency. My rifle is now duty qualified with the optic. This device is a great addition to my rifle and I’m glad it was recommended to me. Anyone who purchases this will not regret it. Best optic I’ve used, from the military, and law enforcement hands down.

This is going to be a bit lengthy:
First let me say I purchased an LP1 with AuraWake, and I could not be happier with it. The dot is crystal clear as is the outer ring. I mean crystal clear and sharp. AuraWake works perfectly, and the idea of AuraWake is fantastic as the dot is always on but the outer ring is where the motion sensor action is happening. Brilliant!!
The illumination buttons are audible and good solid click when pushed. The windage/elevations adjustments are also give you a very definite click. These two should not be taken for granted as I have had much expensive dots that didnt have those qualities. Personally that shows me that Lead and Steel focused on all the details of what a consumer wants in an optic.
The LP1 is built like a tank. Yes I have seen the torture tests on YouTube. If any of that ever ends up happening to my optic/rifle – I am having much bigger problems at that time. I have zero belief that this optic will stand up to whatever I put it through. The curved hood across the top is just a better feature than a had that goes straight across when it comes to absorbing impact.

Lastly I want to talk about things I have seen and customer service.
I didnt directly place my order on the internet. I wanted to call Lead and Steel to discuss some of the things I saw on the internet. Specifically a negative review from a well known YT’er that seemed to have an ulterior motive. It was transparent. Bear in mind that this wasnt my first rodeo and this YT’er was going over the top and out of his way for his review. So I wasnt buying it. Dont be a sheep!!
So I called and spoke to two L & S reps about the optic. When I mentioned the YT’ers name to the first rep (who was awesome by the way) I was handed over to Ahmad to discuss. I let him know immediately that I didnt believe the review on YT and I wanted the optic. I just had some questions about height, brightness etc.
We had a nice chat about the optic (which I was buying anyway), but I was even more confident after my phone call.
Bottom line (ok we are near the end) this optic has been every bit as good as some of the more expensive ones and better well known names.
“But its new and has no track record”. Yeah so what? Wasnt everything new at one time? Eotech, Aimpoint, Sig were all new at one time.
Just buy it.

This LP1 has some of the clearest glass I’ve ever seen on an optic. Very well made construction and the dot is so crisp even with my astigmatism. Didn’t even have to read the manual because of how simple it was to operate. Zeroing was easy as my multi tool flathead fit perfectly in the slots.
Reliable, rugged optic that gets the job done. I couldn’t really ask for more

Waited until I got a 2 day carbine course and few range trips in with it to do my review. I like it, I like it a lot! Loving the reticle options and brightness settings. Only reason I’m not giving it a 5 is for the locking mechanism. Definitely a bit finicky.Not as smooth as let’s say ADM. Finally got it locked in and hasn’t shifted, zero has held up during tough training environments. For the price, I believe it would be hard pressed to skip this and get something else. Good job!

Once again, but this time picked up a new LP-1 with the wakeup thingy.. Glass is so superb and crystal clear, reticle for me is super crisp, I haven’t gotten to the range yet, but I have no doubt it’ll be right on point.. I’m sure I’ll by a third at sometime in the very near future.. You won’t be disappointed
